PLEASE PAY ATTENTION TO THE FOLLOWING:
DISREGARD ALL PRIOR E-MAILS ABOUT THE NAVY MEET AND FOLLOW THIS ONE!!!!
We are sorry that changes continue at this meet. They are pretty much back at the original plan except what is below. We were waiting to get all of the information about the meet but were pressured to get the information out before it was all finalized.
PLEASE PAY ATTENTION TO THE MEET NOTICE ON THE WEBSITE mdswim.org
Sorry for any confusion.
Please pay attention to the following:
  • As some noticed the meet notice change disappeared from the meet website yesterday. MD Swimming has weighed in on the matter of the 7th session and has directed that we do not add this, maintain the original event order per the meet notice, and limit the sessions to 4hrs by removing swimmers from non-LSC teams first, then in entry order fashion (last to first) next. We will lose swimmers and will be working later into Friday and Sunday night, which is the exact opposite of what we were attempting to do. Unfortunately we did not catch the oversubscription in time to be able to properly apply for a deviation on the meet notice. Attached is the current scratch sheet and new session timeline. On the Website you find the current meet notice and complete psych sheet.
  • The 800 Free session... we are ensuring enough heats to fill all LSC swimmers and then filling in Alternates from non-LSC teams who positively checks in by 9:30am. Please note the only change to the meet notice that is now current are the Session start times on Sunday. We will plan to settle entry fee issues after seeding the 800 Free on Sunday.

April 17
We are sorry for the late notice. I was just informed that we must be out of the pool Friday at 5:30pm due to a concert being held in the RAC.

***PLEASE NOTE IT ALL COULD CHANGE IF THE OUTDOOR POOL IS NOT A TEMP. IF WE HAVE TO CHANGE OR CANCEL WE WILL E-MAIL FRIDAY MORNING.

This weekend is quadmania the spring campus festival. The parking will be tight. Please watch out for pedestrians as they have the right away on campus.

***Saturday practice schedule.
  • 7:00-9:15am Senior Gold
  • 7:00-9:00am Senior Yellow
  • 7:00-9:00am Senior Red
  • 9:00-11:00am Age Group Gold
  • 9:00-10:30am Age Group Yellow
  • 9:00-10:30am Age Group Red
  • 9:00-10:00am Age Group White A and B

***If the outdoor pool is ready this weekend we will send out the rest of Saturday schedule next week.

April 10

Practice for this Saturday will be as follows:

Senior Gold 6-8:30am
Senior Yellow 6:00-8:00am
Senior Red 8:00-10:00am
Age Group Gold 8:00-10:00am
Age Group Yellow 10:00-11:30am
Age Group Red 10:00-11:30am
Age Group White A & B     10:00-11:00am

We are going to have to take the Saturday practice schedule week to week until the outdoor pool is open. This depends on the weather. Lets hope it warms up!!

Dear USA Swimming Club Members,
On Friday, March 23rd one of the most highly anticipated movies of the year opens in theaters across the nation. Pride is based on the life of Coach Jim Ellis, who in the early 1970s founded and coached the Philadelphia Department of Recreation (P.D.R) swim team in one of Philadelphias most impoverished neighborhoods.

Through the sport of swimming troubled youths learned positive life lessons that helped them overcome the adversity in their lives. Pride stars Oscar nominee Terrence Howard as Coach Ellis and features popular comedian and Actor Bernie Mac.

USA Swimming is excited to announce the Pride in Your Club contest. During the following period, March 23rd April 15th, all USA Swimming club members are encouraged to go see Pride at their local theater. After seeing the full movie members are asked to fax or mail a copy of their ticket stub along with the name of their club and LSC to USA Swimming. The club that sends in the most Pride ticket stubs will receive Dartswim software ($1,000 cash value) for their club, and a Pride Movie Prize Pack. Family members who attend the movie will have their ticket stubs count toward club totals.

USA Swimming encourages all clubs to gather ticket stubs from club members and club member's families and send ticket stubs to USA Swimming as a group of tickets. Clubs will be broken up into the following levels:

  • 75 or smaller
  • 76-125
  • 126-200
  • 201-400
  • 401+

One Dartswim software program will be awarded to each club level. Clubs are encouraged to see the movie as many times as possible as this will increase the chances of your club winning the Dartswim software program. This contest is only open to USA Swimming Club members. Ticket stubs must be postmarked by April 16th. Winning clubs will be announced on April 23rd. Remember that Pride opens in theatres March 23rd.

For more information please log onto makeasplash.org or contact Manny Banks, Director of Consumer Marketing at (719) 866-3580. All ticket stubs need to be faxed or mailed to USA Swimming at the address listed below.
