Age Group Yellow
As a senior at UMBC, Joey returns to RAC for his second year. In his first season at RAC, he was an assistant coach for Age Group Gold. This season he is coaching Age Group Yellow and working with Age Group Gold as much as possible.

Joey began coaching and teaching at the beginning of high school, in Massachusetts, as an instructor at a local YMCA and a volunteer coach for his town’s winter and summer league programs. In summer 2003 he became head coach of the Framingham Swim Team, a developmental swim program of 150 swimmers ages 5-18, and has coached there every summer since. Under Joey’s leadership, FST has posted a dual meet record of 47-2-1.

 Additionally, during the summer Joey is an assistant coach for his home club team, Shawmut Aquatic Club. There he has coached the Age Group II and Junior Team groups, working primarily with 12 & under swimmers. In summer 2007, he helped lead Shawmut to their first ever 1st place finish at the New England 12 & Under Championship meet.

Joey currently competes in primarily distance freestyle and IM events for the UMBC Swim Team. He will be graduating in May 2008, with degrees in Psychology and Economics. He plans to pursue a master’s degree in Education and will continue coaching. He is an ASCA level 2 coach.
