Joanne returns for her 4th year with Retriever Aquatic Club. Joanne is the lead coach for Age Group Red and Age Group White B. Joanne is an ASCA Level 2 Coach. She is also WSI/Lifeguard First Aid/CPR certified.

Joanne began her coaching career working with the GBSA stroke clinic. She has been coaching with Andover Swim and Tennis Club summer league for the past 3 years. While coaching with Andover they have moved from Division IV to Division III. Summer 2006 Andover went 4-1 and are currently co-champions. Last year Joanne trained 4 swimmers from Age Group Red for their first open water swim (Chesapeake Challenge 1-mile) which all successfully completed.

Joanne has been competitively swimming for 31 years. She is a member of USTA and Nissan Xterra Competition. She was the Nissan Xterra MidAtlantic Region point series leaded in 2002. She was married after competing at the Nissan Xterra Worlds Off Road Triathlon Championship in Hawaii. She currently coaches for the Masters Program as well as participates in their practices.

Joanne enjoys spending her free time watching her daughter ride in recognized equestrian competitions. She has an interest in photography and has several photos published in the Equiery Magazine. She also enjoys training and competing with her husband in both on and off-road triathlons.
