Although this is Ingrid's first year of coaching, she is no stranger to the pool. Ingrid began swimming competitively at age 5. By the time she was 10 years old, she was the fastest butterflier in the country for her age group. Ingrid swam with the Retriever Aquatic Club from its beginning. Throughout her swimming career, she has competed in Zones, Junior Nationals, Senior Nationals, the U.S. Open, and the U.S. Olympic Festival. She has also had the opportunity to train at the Olympic Training Camp in Colorado Springs.

Ingrid swam for the UMBC Women's Swim Team and was named MVP all four years. She served as the team captain her junior and senior year. Also in her senior year, Ingrid won the UMBC Outstanding Athlete award.

Ingrid currently resides in West Friendship where she and her husband are raising their four young children. They love to take time out for camping trips, bike rides, church activities, and enjoying the outdoors together.
