Devin's first love and most of his free time is spent coaching swimming. Devin started swimming when he was 6 years old. He swam for Columbia Neighborhood swim teams as a youngster. He also swam for the Retriever Aquatics club of UMBC for 7 years. It has always been a goal of Devin’s to coach for the Retriever Aquatics Club and help in the progress of making the Retriever Aquatic Club one of the premiere club in USA Swimming. This is Devin's 2nd year of coaching for the RAC. Devin is happy to be part of the best coaching staff of his career and one of the best in Maryland and USA Swimming.

Devin has been coaching competitive swimming for 6 years. While at Columbia Aquatics Association, Devin was Head Age Group Coach. While under his guidance, the age group had great success. Devin coached the most competitive 9-10 group. While coaching that group, every swimmer achieved best times from the start of the season to the end. While at the YMCA, he was lead coach for the 7-8 year old age group and assistant coach the 9-12 year old age group. Under his leadership, last year, the 7-8 year old age group had the best success it ever had. The 7-8 girls won the 8 & under championship and the boys were second. As a whole both the girls and boys won the meet. Devin coached at GBSA for a 1yr in a half, while at GBSA Devin coached 7 Maryland State Qualifiers and 3 Stat finalists.

Currently, Devin is an ASCA level 3 coach He has had had much success with swimmers in developing them into strong and confident athletics. At the former Zone Qualifier meet, Devin had numerous finalists, and a top qualifier. He has produced a nationally ranked top 16 swimmer and placed others on the Maryland zone team representing Maryland in competition with other States. Devin has had Zone finalists and a Zone champion. Devin has represented RAC and the Maryland Zone team as a coach. Devin believes in working on stroke technique because fundamentals are important.

The results of working hard are attaining personal best times. These are the keys to a swimmers success. Devin enjoys coaching and finds it very satisfying when his swimmers attain their goals. He believes that all devoted swimmers work many hours during practice sessions to attain that one moment of glory.
